You may have heard of Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis in the latest articles, podcasts, or even in discussions among friends, but what does this treatment do? And does it really work? The short answer is yes! At Body Catalyst, we take pride in knowing as much as we can about our treatments to give you the best experience, so let’s dive in!

Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis is a non-invasive, non-surgical fat reduction treatment that uses cold temperatures to reduce stubborn localised pockets of fat in your body. Many people, irrespective of a healthy diet and exercise, struggle to lose weight in certain areas. Unlike many other fat reduction procedures like kybella or liposuction, cryolipolysis doesn’t require any needles, surgery or downtime.

Using Clatuu 360 technology, your qualified therapist will use an applicator with two handpieces to quickly cool down to a freezing temperature of -9 degrees, and are placed on the targeted area for at least 35 minutes in order to achieve optimal results, losing up to 30% of fat cells in the targeted area within each treatment, and continue to notice results up to 12 weeks post-treatment.

Cryolipolysis fat freezing can treat fat pockets under the chin, upper arms, upper back (the brassiere area), abdomen, lower back, hips, outer and inner thighs and the butt. Each treatment takes about an hour, where your therapist will treat the targeted area and lightly massage the area to supplement the breakdown of fat cells. Fat cells are prone to damage from cold temperature, which brings about an inflammatory
response and consequently causes the fat cells to die.

It’s important to remember that cryolipolysis isn’t for everyone. Though it is a safe and effective treatment, some skin conditions, pregnancy and other diseases, can preclude you from receiving the treatment. At your initial complimentary consultation, our body experts will be able to advise if fat freezing is appropriate for you.

We recommend a minimum of 2 sessions for each treated area. Treatment sessions are spaced 1 month apart and results will continue to improve for up to 12 weeks. No two bodies are the same which is why our treatment plans are unique to every individual. Speak to one of our therapists about a holistic plan to reach and maintain your desired results.
